Nightmare Custom Cycles

The Daily Grind

12/12/11
I need to start this post with an apology. I started this site promising to keep it more updated, and it has been put on the back burner for the last couple months. Between the hoildays (which I hope everyone enjoyed!), school, work, and so on, the website has not been on the top of my list. But I'm taking some time right now to send everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
I would also like to invite everyone to my little Christmas party/customer appreciation event, our mere second Coffee and Cookies with Peanut in our new shop! This used to be a pretty big deal when we were down in Jedburg. About once a month I would bake lots of homemade cookies and have hot coffee waiting for chilly riders on Saturday mornings! We're bringing it back this Saturday, December 17th! I hope to see plenty of people here! I'm baking lots of goodies!
I also hinted at a new creation in the back. I just want to say that now, the monster is taking shape and becoming the trophy winner we expected! Just another reason to stop by Saturday and see the beast!
As for Nightmare News, here's the latest: one of our very own Nightmare Customs has been featured in the 2012 Karney Bike Calendar! Stop by to get your own copy!
Lastly, Team Nightmare wants to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

Enjoy your holidays, and stay warm!

10/3/11
What a difference in our Lowcountry weather! It has finally cooled down! We're heading out of our South Carolina summer straight into winter, and boy do the riders love it! This is great riding weather! Just starting to get cool enough to bring your leathers out and go for a weekend ride.
That's exactly what a lot of riders did on Saturday. We had a good group of people up here for our Gambler's Sale, and everyone got great deals on all kinds of goodies for their bike! It was so much fun, we're thinking about doing it again, so keep watching the website for any updates on sales!
Speaking of sales, Nightmare Custom Cycles is trying to collect everyone's email address. We are starting a new list of eveyone. Hopefully, I will be able to put a sign up form here on the website, but if that doesn't work out, be sure to email us or give it to us next time you're here at the shop. We send out a few updates every now and then on comings and goings, local events, and sales. These are deals you don't want to miss, sign up soon!

Happy riding!

First of all, Nightmare sends thanks to everyone who came out to the shows he was at these past few weekends.
Crawler's Opening had a great turnout with lots of good food, and, as I hear, cold beer! Nightmare says the wet Tshirt contest will not be forgotten! For those who didn't go, you really missed out. Keep listening for another event up there. Nightmare has already promised a Round 2!
Team Nightmare had a blast at See Saw Daze! The ride in bike show had a pretty good turnout of people's everyday bikes- no trailer queens allowed here! Everyone came home with something that weekend, thanks to the Town of Harleyville, who generously donated Tshirts to those who didn;t take home a trophy. So next year I expect the entries to double!
I mentioned a while back that to those of you reading this blog, there will be a special treat every now and then. Well. . . I have a secret. I know about something going on in the back right now that will be absolutely KILLER. You have NEVER seen anything like this fire breather before, I promise. . We have never built anything like this before, nor have we seen anything close. Curtis, the first customer to see the beast, believes this monster (which is exactly what she is!) will even show up Pirate's Promise! EasyRider... you better go ahead and get our trophy ready! Team Nightmare is pulling out all the stops! I will post pictures soon. Check back to see the secret, or even stop by to watch the magic unfold!
Today was the first day of cooler weather, merely hinting at what is to come this winter. Perhaps it is time to pull out the leathers from the closet? It's getting there!

Waiting on Cool Riding,
Peanut

9/2/11

These next two weeks will keep the shop busy and Nightmare out and about.
This weekend is the grand opening of Crawler's Bar in Givhans, which everyone needs to go check out. Nightmare has been out there all afternoon waiting on people like you to come see him and shoot the breeze. Event ends Sunday, so you have no excuse not to head up the road!
Next weekend is the family fun part. Up here in Harleyville is the annual See Saw Daze festival. Cake walks, Bingo, art contests, pet shows, dancing, music, and of course a ride in bike show. The shop will be opened up and we'll have a tent down at the community park for the Fri-Sat event. Guys, while you're chatting with Nightmare around the bikes, the shop will be open for us ladies (which is also full of brand new apparel for sale).
While you're here in Harleyville, stop by Champs or Town Kitchen, tell 'em Nightmare sent ya down, and you'll get a free iced tea!
Now you have no excuse not to come visit Team Nightmare. Be seeing ya soon!

8/19/11

So the website has not been updated in awhile, but I just added some small information about See Saw Daze here in Harleyville. The info is on the home page so check it out and hopefully we will see you there!
Summer is drawing to a close in another month or so, and Nightmare has some great specials planned to winterize your bike! So before you put too many miles on her in he cooler coming weather, be sure to stop in and see what he has going on to help you save your hard earned cash!
And for the ladies: we have recently redesigned the showroom to accomodate more ladies apparel! We have gotten in some REALLY cute tops for us girls this past week! I'm very excited about the new inventory and hope you like it as much as I do!
We have also gotten in more logo tshirts for the guys, along with our limited edition shirts. So stop in now before we run out again!
One more thing: Also on the front page is a new survey I would LOVE for ya'll to take. It's only 8 quick questions for it won't take you long, but it will really help us see what you're looking for in a quality motorcycle shop. It's located on the right hand side, just a little ways down the page. I would really appreciate the input! We always like getting feeback!

Enjoy the last little bit of hot weather!

Yes! I'm so excited to get back to this website because I just found an old shop video I thought I had lost in The Great Computer Crash! But It's alive! I will post it immediately, it's our NCC Fashion Show 101! We were bored that day so some of us girls modeled a few of the shirts available in the shop. It was all good fun and it's now here for your viewing pleasure!

Now, please everyone, bear with me. I know I promised a new, more updated site, and I've really been trying, except many of the things I would love to see on here for ya'll just aren't working out due to site difficulties. But I will keep trying and hopefully by the end of the day, you will see our Nightmare's Store take shape, at the very least!
With this weather, I've been seeing plenty of riders in my little shop, but I wanna see more! So what are ya'll waiting for?! Get on up here to Harleyville and check out what we've got goin' on! Just stop by on your ride and say hey to the guys and let your missus browse through our "biker boutique"! (The other side of the shop is filled with shiny chrome.... maybe she won't notice if you sneak in a little something from that side!)
I know I've put this little tidbit on the front page, and if you've visited us recently you've for sure heard the news, but for those who haven't: Nightmare Custom Cycles has been featured in a brand new international magazine! Supplies are limited, so on youre way to the checkout counter, this Backstreet Havoc mag is a must have!
One last thing: In the last blog, I mentioned our new Highway Diary. Recently, we've had our first signature! Team Nightmare would like to thank LC and Kay for being the first ones, who rode all the way from West Virginia to let us do the work on their bike! Thanks guys, and hope to have you again! To everyone else.... come leave your mark on NCC, and become part of The World of Nightmare!

7/6/11

Wow! After our little vacation after the Fourth, we came back to find the shop swamped with work and new faces! I guess word is getting out about Nightmare and his crew, because everyone is stopping by to say hey or to find out what's so hot up here! Lucky us, we have that Coke cooler to cool everyone off after their ride (although the guys in the back, who say they're working hard, have been raiding it too)!
We've also added on an old church pew out front in the shade, so come out, sit, have a coke and a smoke and watch small town Harleyville. Our goal is to make us a stop for business or pleasure, and the additions of the Coke machine and bench are getting us there. Changes are happening up here at Nightmare's.
Also, to celebrate our 7th year, we're letting you put your own personal stamp on NCC. We now have a Highway Diary wall that you can sign and list where you're from. That way, eveyone who stops by can see and be seen at Nightmare's. There's no signature as important as yours! Be the first to sign the Diary!

7/1/11

Happy birthday to NCC! Today we celebrate 7 years in business, serving our old friends, and making new! We started out July 1st, 2004 in our little bitty shop in Jedburg, and look where we are today! Numerous customs, restorations, and simple oil changes later, we have become an international sensation, and it's all thanks to generous customers and friends like YOU! So this blog is to thank everyone who has helped us become who we are now. Without people like you, we couldn't be here. So this is saying thank you for everyone's support through these last seven years. Thanks to everyone who rode with us in benefit rides for charity and to support the community, to everyone who came to see us at numerous shows up and down the East Coast, for help here around the shop, and for being our friends. It's been tough, but its been a helluva lotta fun. We are who we are because of you guys. Thank you.

So, everyone, enjoy this weekend and this Fourth of July. Have fun and be safe. Hope to see ya'll up here in Harleyville soon.

    -With Thanks,
    Nightmare, Miriam, and Peanut

6/24/11

As we all know, South Carolina summers are killer. Heat waves are already touching 100 here at the shop. We just can't wait for August to come around. But, what you guys will like to hear is this: with the hot weather comes hotter deals! Nightmare wants everyone to know that he has really reduced the price on one of the bikes in here! So come up and see which one! I can tell you; she is a beauty!

I know riding in this heat with the sun beating down is hot. Especially in town where you have to stop for red lights. So why don't ya'll take a trip up here to Harleyville? The ride through the country is great, and Nightmare can even give you some tips on some nice shady back roads to spend the afternoon on.

Here in the shop we have some old school KD shades to keep the sun out of your eyes. Mom has these great bands called Keep Kools, too! Just soak them in water and put them in the fridge the night before, and when you head out for your ride, just wrap it around your neck and it will keep you nice and cool all day long! (Hence: Keep Kool. Funny, huh?)   And for the lady riders out there, we have some cute summery tops marked down pretty far! Personally, I think the best addition to the shop is our own Coke cooler. We're doing our best to keep it well stocked with soda and water kept just above freezing. I grabbed a Pepsi from it the other day and there was actually ice  floating on top. It's perfect after a hot ride.
So ride up here on your day off! Grab a coke, look at all the shiny chrome, talk with the guys, maybe grab a burger from Champs or Town Kitchen, then enjoy a nice ride home. Take a break and relax with your bike. Come and see us soon!

    Try and stay cool everyone!

Hey Everyone!

As you can see, our new site is getting up and its taking shape. Hopefully, with just a little more work, it can be a helpful aid to you, our customers! This page is where we at Nightmare's would like to keep you guys updated on all the action at the shop (or maybe some insider's secrets)!

As I'm making the site, I would love to hear ya'lls thoughts on how I'm doing. What you like about our site, what you don't, or maybe what you would like to see coming. So please let me know! You can email Mom or Dad (Miriam or Nightmare) at miriam@nightmarecustomcycles.com or nightmare@nightmarecustomcycles.com or even write an idea down in our brand new guestbook! I would really appreciate your thoughts!

Mom wants me to tell everyone: The Father's Day specials won't last much longer! (Ending June 18th) Until then, we have discounted shades, limited edition Cruzin' Machine chrome, $5 T-Shirts, and detail certificates available for Dad!

Was that the first insider's deal??? :)

Keep checking back for new stuff as much as you can! (And remember I have the inside scoop as to good stuff that's coming up, so I'll tell you now, in the next blog or two, you'll be privy a yummy little secret straight from one of our techs!) I'm taking charge of the website and so hopefully we will keep it much more current than the last. With a little help from you guys, I think it will turn out pretty good. Please understand that it's still under construction and that I have a billion ideas in my head for what I would love to do, I just have to figure out how. So.... wish me luck!

    Ride Safe Everyone!
